In Manchester, we know the importance of export and trade – our city was built on it. Its at the centre of our economy, but the Tories have run down our export industries and alienated our international friends.
That’s why I am pleased to have been appointed by Sir Keir Starmer MP as the Shadow Minister for Exports.
I’ll be working closely alongside Jonathan Reynolds MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Trade, and Labour’s Shadow Business and Trade team to prepare for a Labour Government which will open up export opportunities for businesses across the UK.
It has been an honour to serve for the last two years as Shadow Minister for Legal Aid in Labour’s Shadow Justice team. I have held the Tory Government to account on their catalogue of failures over legal aid which has led to many people losing their right to access justice. I have no doubt that Shabana Mahmood MP, Labour’s new Shadow Secretary of State for Justice, and her team will continue exposing the deep injustices of the brutal cuts to legal aid under the Tories.
